I wanted BIG love, I wanted chemistry that wasn’t constantly tainted throughout by OW strings and lies and I wanted this life-hardened hero to be the HERO instead of the villain. It was full of emotional angst but the romance lover in me just wasn’t satisfied with how it all played out in this second book. instead it’s conflict and secrets, chaos and crushed dreams and it has A LOT of OW drama and angst that I didn’t mentally prepare for. Unlikely Queen The prophecy foretold of the true queen. ![]() It brought out resentment and anger and I wanted to defend and protect the heroine with each mental, physical, psychological and emotional blow endured. I really loved the first book however (and sadly) this second one wasn’t so good as a slow culmination of different plot negatives built and built into a fairly frustrating listen. ![]()
